Add a splash of vibrant color to your garden or home with the Santa Rita Prickly Pear Cactus! This low-growing cactus forms large clumps and features flat, round pads that shift from a striking reddish-purple in cold or drought conditions to a soft bluish-gray in summer. In late spring, enjoy a display of orange-red flowers, followed by oblong, purple, plump fruit.

:

  • : Reddish-purple pads intensify in winter or drought; bluish-gray in summer.

  • : Orange-red flowers bloom in late spring, followed by decorative purple fruit.

  • : Perfect as a colorful accent in containers or as a silhouette against white or light-colored walls.

  • : Drought-resistant, hardy to 15°F or lower, and easy to propagate by replanting pads.

  • : Originates from Arizona, Texas, New Mexico, and Sonora, Mexico (2,000–4,000 ft elevation).

Care Requirements:

  • Light: Full sun for best color and growth.
  • Water: Very drought-tolerant. Water deeply but infrequently, allowing soil to dry out between waterings.
  • Soil: Prefers well-draining sandy or gritty soil.
  • Temperature: Extremely cold-hardy, tolerating temperatures as low as -10°F (-23°C); USDA zones 5–10.
  • Growth Habit: Low-growing and clumping, typically reaching 8–12 inches tall and 12–24 inches wide.

Special Features:

  • Vibrant purple/pink pads with seasonal color variation
  • Cold-hardy and drought-tolerant
  • Low maintenance and ideal for rock gardens, desert landscapes, or container growing

William Carlos Williams is a wonderful poet who incorporates the mundane and interesting things happening around him in his poetry. One word will suffice: enjoyable.

America's master poet
Format: Kindle
William Carlos Williams serves as a plumb line for writers. Keeping it clean & straight with a modern appreciation for the REAL. I read a Williams poem a day, something I will do throughout life. So much depends upon the truth enshrined in "All ideas in things"

ishiness
Format: Paperback
Williams' poetry requires some bio, and Charles Tomlinson's introduction in this edition has proved helpful. also Wendell Berry has published a handsome critique in "William Carlos Williams of Rutherford" that helps to mitigate some of the ishiness that may result from reading Williams without understanding the man. that beins said, Williams speaks well to the listeners of the finical new millenium with a mind for the migrant-flux consequences of the coming century -stressing the "thing" and the "American idiom" with attention to detail and irrepressible imagination "flung outward and up-disappearing suddenly" (from "Strains" in Al Que Quiere)
